Social Media Alive! – Beginning

Have you heard about this social media stuff like Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, Blogging, Skype, Web 2.0, but you’re not sure how to use it or if it’s right for you?  Well, why not learn about the free or relatively cheap ways to post or access information through the internet via social media! Especially in tough economic times, knowledge of the inexpensive and widely available tools help us communicate, participate, and thrive in this new connected world. In this class we’ll bring social media alive! This is an interactive workshop where we’ll explore some of the tools, discuss examples of interesting implementations, share tips and tricks, talk about privacy and security issues and participate in class exercises to get you signed up and prospering! We’ll also discuss some of your specific goals and help you develop plans to implement them online using social media.

    I’d sign up for this session if I could! When I was at Columbia College, they didn’t have classes anywhere near this cool.

      Wow, I keep forgetting how small the world is, especially around small towns. Interestingly, it’s just as exciting to share some of these concepts with newly connected beginners as it is with those who are on the cutting edge of developing and optimising the tools. Can I share your blog as an example of local girl gone big?
